Prominent PDP governors from across the nation gather in Edo State to show their support and strategize for the upcoming gubernatorial election.
1. In anticipation of the gubernatorial election scheduled for tomorrow in Edo State, two governors affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) arrived in Benin City on Friday.
The governors, Ahmadu Fintiri from Adamawa and Kefas Agbu from Taraba, came to the state to rally support for the party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

Fintiri announced their arrival through a post on his social media account on Friday evening, stating, “I have just arrived in Edo State with my colleague, Gov. Agbu Kefas, in preparation for the September 21st gubernatorial election. We are united in our support for our official PDP Nigeria candidate, Asue Ighodalo, as we strive for a brighter future.”
According to PlatinumPost, the current governor of Edo, Godwin Obaseki, who leads the PDP in the state, has previously expressed concerns regarding an alleged scheme by the All Progressives Congress to manipulate the election results.
At the time of this report, it remained uncertain whether additional PDP governors would travel to the state for the election.
