The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has been accused by Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara of failing the state.
Fubara made this statement on Thursday while hosting a team from Senator Orji Uzo Kalu’s Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialization.
The governor said that the state will henceforth stand on its own territory and protect democracy, expressing his disappointment at the party’s apparent lack of response to the problem between him and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

He claimed that rather than depending on party politics at the moment, Rivers was relying on a mass movement built on consistency and truth.
According to Fubara, parties are no longer held in our state these days. You shouldn’t hold it against me if I don’t constantly align with the party since we are in the midst of a movement.
“We are standing here with our two legs on Rivers State soil in order to defend democracy because the party has failed us here.”
