In a bid to restructure the party, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reiterated his backing for Chairman Illiya Damagum and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During the groundbreaking ceremony for Ladoke Akintola Airport’s upgrade to international standards in Ibadan, the governor pledged his commitment on Wednesday.
Makinde stressed his readiness to support all measures adopted by the NWC aimed at fortifying the PDP, while urging party members to prioritize unity and harmony amidst internal disputes, particularly in light of Edo State’s upcoming governorship election.

Makinde stated that despite internal conflicts, the current period is not suitable for quarrels. He emphasized the importance of upcoming elections in Edo State and urged everyone to come together to support their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.
Makinde clarified why he was absent from the PDP campaign grand finale in Benin by stating that prior to the announcement of the campaign date, he had already arranged meetings in Finland and Sweden.
Nevertheless, the governor unequivocally endorsed Asue Ighodalo – Edo PDP’s candidate- and urged the citizens of Edo State to cast their votes in his favor.
