Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State said he has nothing against PDP’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Even though Atiku won the PDP nomination for president, Wike said he doesn’t have anything against the former vice president.
When he met with several state chieftains in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital, to celebrate his 55th birthday, he gave a speech.
But the governor stressed that the only way to solve the problem inside the PDP is for North to step down as the party’s national chairman.
Iyorchia Ayu had been the National Chairman of the PDP, but Wike and his G-5 group want him out.
They emphasized that the party’s national chairman and presidential candidate could not be produced in the North.
Wike and his supporters pushed for the National Chairman to be assigned to the south of the nation.
I have no issues with our presidential candidate,” Wike asserted. All I’m asking is, what do the people of Rivers want? What do the South and the South-South have in common?
The governor added that he had never looked back on his decision to run for the party’s presidential nomination.
“I have no regrets about running for president.” I’m honored to represent Rivers State with pride in the name of God. As far as I’m concerned, I’m content. I would have won the election if they had permitted it to go as planned. It has taken place.
“People claimed that it doesn’t matter because I lost the election. I won the election. “This is my first attempt to run for president of Nigeria, and we had an impact,” he continued.
