A 37-year-old man named Abdullahi Isiyaku was killed and other people were injured in a fight between PDP and APC supporters in Maigatari local government area, according to Jigawa State police.
In a statement provided to DAILY POST, state police command spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu confirmed the event.
According to him, the event took place on Friday at Maigatari during a protest being held by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Shiisu, the altercation started when PDP supporters showed up to the APC secretariat in Gangare Quarters and allegedly beat a man named Abdullahi Isiyaku.
According to him, one of the patients passed away while undergoing treatment after being taken to Gumel General Hospital.
According to Shiisu, five people were detained in relation to the altercation.
He claimed that SCID received the case for a covert inquiry.
