The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Taraba State chapter has finally decided to assign the state chairmanship to the state’s central geographic zone.
The party’s caucus meeting, held on Saturday in the Government House in the state capital of Jalingo, resulted in a unanimous decision.
Former Nigerian ambassador to Pakistan, Idris Waziri, announced the development to journalists, saying that the caucus meeting’s participants decided to divide the party’s eleven seats equally among the state’s three geopolitical zones.
He added that everyone had decided to zone the state party chairmanship to the state’s centre.
He claimed that the action is intended to guarantee justice and fairness within the party, which would guarantee the party’s triumph in elections held in the state and the nation as a whole.
In the sake of equity, justice, and fairness, we have decided to zone the party’s positions such that each zone is represented inside the party at the state level.
We have just zoned the 11 offices as of yet. While some executives are staying, others are leaving. People will eventually express interest in running for office or not. We shall not force candidates upon anyone.
