Aderemi Dabiri, the founder of a Celestial Church of Christ branch in Lagos State, gave an explanation for his invitation to Afrobeats rising talent Portable and well-known fuji singer Pasuma for praise night.

According to Obasanjo News24, the church caused a commotion on social media when it revealed Pasuma and Portable as special guests for a forthcoming event.

In response to the criticism, Dabiri stated in a viral video that he invited secular artists in order to win over new followers.

We have previously invited guest artists. I can provide you with some examples of how we have been doing it without any issues. We are unable to approach anyone selling alcoholic beverages or palm wine and ask them to accept Jesus Christ. They’ll hit me over the head with a bottle if I don’t use wisdom. I came up with a plan to let them into the church because of this,” he stated.

Dabiri continued, “Some of the gospel singers are rude,” while denouncing their disrespectful actions. While some of them treat you brutally, Pasuma seemed courteous and supported my position when I phoned him that day.

Dabiri, however, made a plea for assistance to the Celestial Church worldwide and pledged to use his evangelistic approach to elevate the church.
