Pastor William Kumuyi, the founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has explained his reasons for inviting Muslim clerics to speak at the church conference.
During his CMI conference at the General Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Elekahia Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Monday, Kumuyi preached and revealed this to attendees. The focus of the event was on revolutionary change makers.

In response to the contentious issues raised in a widely-circulated video, Pastor Kumuyi clarified that his decision was based on the fact that the conference took place in a stadium rather than within the sacred confines of the church.
According to him, individuals had inquired about why he was staring at a man wearing a cap whilst they were at the stadium rather than within their usual church premises.
He explained that there was no need for him to confront or reprimand the individual since it wasn’t necessary outside of their place of worship.
