In an attack on the Christian Pentecostal Church in Akenawe-Tswarev village, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, armed men who are believed to be kidnappers killed one worshipper while stealing the resident pastor and three other people.
At a vigil on Sunday morning, the attackers committed the act.
The attackers allegedly broke inside the church and started shooting at worshippers as the local pastor, Gwadue Kwaghtyo, was purportedly conducting prayer.
The horrific occurrence was verified to the media on Sunday by the chairman of the Logo LGA, Ms. Salome Tor.
He stated, “This morning it was early (still night hours). The church held a vigil in one of the branches. The armed men were around them as they were praying.
“They abducted three individuals, murdered one youth, wounded two others with a machete, and are currently being treated in the hospital.”
