A pastor has been detained by the Joint Security Forces (JSF) in Anambra for allegedly preparing charms intended for IPOB activities.
A pastor was captured by united security forces in Anambra State for purportedly crafting charms to aid the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other wrongdoers causing mayhem in Uga, Ekwulobia, and neighboring areas.
The police state that the individuals were engaged in car thefts, kidnappings and armed robberies spanning across Aguata local government area including Umuchu, Nkpologwu and Ezinifite.
Two notorious members of the secessionist group were apprehended as a result of an operation carried out by multiple security agencies, including the police, military and civil defence.
The state police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed on Friday, August 23 through a statement that the suspects were indeed involved in several criminal activities within the region.

According to Ikenga, one of the two suspects (whose names were not disclosed) has a gunshot wound on their leg. The other suspect is imposter posing as a pastor and creating criminal charms for gang members. However, they have admitted to committing the crime and are currently aiding law enforcement in catching other individuals involved with the gang.
Additionally, the suspects have furnished details regarding the whereabouts of the shrine where they fabricate talismans and a few stolen automobiles.
CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, the Commissioner of Police has guaranteed people from Anambra that his team is dedicating all their efforts towards investigating and solving reported cases such as kidnapping, armed robbery and other crimes. He acknowledges the trust bestowed upon them for safeguarding lives and properties which they do not take lightly.
