At the 2024 Olympic Games, Favour Ofili has made it to the final round of Women’s 200m race.

By executing a well-planned race strategy, Ofili secured the second spot in the semi-final.

With a season’s best of 22.05 seconds, the runner-up was a 21-year-old athlete.

It has been 28 years since a Nigerian woman qualified for the final of the 200m at the Olympics, but Ofili has become the first to do so.

In the Atlanta 1996 games, Mary Onyali succeeded in reaching the final of the women’s 200m race.
