People in the area have been urged by the Pan Niger Delta Forum to abstain from actions that could jeopardise the Niger Delta Development Commission’s efficient operation.

In a statement made accessible to journalists, PANDEF’s national publicity secretary, Ken Robinson, also urged resentful residents of the area to encourage the NDDC board to act in the region’s best interests.

The leading sociocultural organisation of the Niger Delta area reaffirmed its dedication to fostering national peace, unity, and sustainable development.

In the statement, PANDEF also gave the presidency and the NDDC management advice to steer clear of what it called “disturbing incidents” that would give detractors a chance to challenge the legitimacy of the commission.
