The Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, HRM Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, will serve as the State Council of Traditional Rulers’ chairman. On Monday, Ekiti State Governor Mr. Biodun Oyebanji inaugurated the newly established body and urged the Obas to support his administration’s efforts to make doing business easier.

In order for the state to advance, the royal fathers must welcome private investors, according to Governor Oyebanji, who also encouraged traditional leaders to encourage their people to discourage their followers from scandalising private business investors in the state. He claims that this is a strong stimulant for the growth of the state economy and the realisation of his administration’s agenda for shared prosperity.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Ado Ekiti’s traditional Council Chamber, the governor urged monarchs to put an end to the never-ending disputes over land use. He expressed his displeasure over some communities’ unfavourable attitudes towards the release of land for private investment.

While expressing gratitude to the recently-completed council for being led so magnificently by the Onisan of Isan Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon, the Governor said that his term will be remembered for his commitment to everyone’s well-being, modesty, and selfless representation of the traditional council.

Governor Oyebanji recognised the important roles traditional rulers play in society as stewards of culture and facilitators of socioeconomic development. He reassured them that his administration will continue to value established institutions highly.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the welfare of the traditional leaders and pledged that it will take all reasonable measures to support the institution and put the traditional leaders’ needs first.

The Governor congratulated the new Chairman and stated that he had no doubts about his ability to lead the council with the necessary maturity, sincerity, and unity.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to the new Chairman, HRM Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, on his selection as the Council’s thirteenth chairman. I’m confident Kabiyesi can handle the job. He possesses the skills necessary to lead the council with the maturity, sincerity, and unity that the job demands.

“Kabiyesi, let me to also assure you that our administration has the utmost regard for you and the roles you play in our community as the keepers of our culture and agents of socio-economic mobilisation. We also recognise the enormous responsibility you bear for fostering growth and peace in your own kingdoms.

“Your Majesty, allow me to use this occasion to express my worry regarding some communities’ unfavourable treatment of land that has been made available for private sector investment. We all know that Ekiti is industrially underdeveloped, thus if this state is to see economic growth, it needs investors to conduct business here in order to bring prosperity and jobs to our people.

“Therefore, I implore you to join our agenda for ease of doing business and make sure that never-ending disputes over land use are history.” said the governor.

The new chairman, the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, Oba Ilori Faboro, thanked the governor in his acceptance address for giving him the chance to lead the council.
