From Saturday to Monday, there should be sunshine and dust haze throughout the nation, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet).
According to NiMet’s Thursday weather forecast from Abuja, there would be a moderate dust haze over the North and North Central States on Friday, with horizontal visibility ranging from 2 to 5 kilometres.
During the projected period, horizontal visibility ranges localised less than or equal to 1,000 metres are expected in the states of Yobe, Borno, Jigawa, and Kano.
“Cloudy atmosphere expected over the coastal regions during the morning hours, with patches of clouds with sunny skies predicted over the inland states of the South.”
“Parts of Edo, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom Delta, Cross River, and Rivers States are expected to experience isolated thunderstorms later in the day,” the statement read. “Sunny skies with patches of clouds are anticipated over the inland states.”
The northern states were expected to see a considerable amount of dust haze for the entire predicted period on Saturday.
The agency forecasted considerable dust haze over the country’s north-central region for the duration of the forecast period, with horizontal visibility ranging from 2 to 5 kilometres.
During the early hours of the forecast period, NiMet predicted cloudy skies over the coastal regions and clear skies with patches of cloud in the southern inland states.
The meteorological service forecasted sunny and cloudy conditions throughout the interior states, with the chance of isolated thunderstorms later in the day over portions of the states of Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa.
