The residents of Takum local government council in Taraba are facing significant losses after a windstorm wreaked havoc in various parts of the area on Tuesday.

The destructive windstorm was accompanied by a heavy downpour that lasted for several hours, resulting in the extensive destruction of houses.
Among the areas severely affected in the council are Angwan Rogo and Cameroon quarters.
As a result, business activities have come to a halt as people are still assessing the damage to their homes and belongings. Numerous victims expressed their concerns to our reporter, highlighting that the windstorm blew off the roofs of more than fifty houses.
In light of this situation, they are appealing to the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for assistance in providing relief materials.
Responding to the distressing situation, the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kafes, has dispatched a delegation to the local government to assess the extent of the damage caused by the windstorms.
This delegation includes the Commissioner of the Ministry of Transportation Development, Yakubu Samaila Yakubu, and the Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, among others.
