The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated that Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, remains its national chairman. This statement was made by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary, during an interview on Arise Television.
Morka emphasized that the ruling party will not comply with the initial court order that affirmed Ganduje’s suspension as national chairman.
Morka further explained that the party has not received any summons regarding the initial court order restraining Ganduje. He highlighted that the APC fully supports the recent ruling by the Kano Federal High Court, which called for a stay of the order.
This ruling came after Ganduje filed an exparte motion seeking to enforce his fundamental right to a fair hearing.

The suspension of Ganduje by his ward executives in Dawakin Tofa Local Government area of the state was halted by another judge, Justice A.M Liman, in a Federal High Court.
The judge’s ruling was based on the fact that the individuals who orchestrated the suspension were not recognized members of the party.
Morka expressed his approval of the court’s decision, stating that the plaintiffs who filed the action were not legitimate members of the APC and therefore lacked the authority to invoke the court’s power.
He also highlighted the cautiousness exercised by judges in making far-reaching orders on ex parte motions or applications, as recognized by the Supreme Court and the NJC (National Judicial Council).
In summary, the APC stands firm in its support of Abdullahi Ganduje as the national chairman, disregarding the initial court order of suspension.
The party argues that the individuals behind the suspension were not legitimate members, and therefore lacked the authority to take such action.
The recent ruling by the Kano Federal High Court, calling for a stay of the order, has been welcomed by the APC.
