After collating the results of the governorship election held on Saturday in 16 of Abia State’s 17 local government areas, Alex Otti of the Labour Party, LP, is now in the lead.
The postponement of the Obingwa Local Government Area’s gubernatorial election results’ collation was reported by Obasanjonews24.
The suspension was justified by an attack and invasion on INEC’s office in the council area by alleged political thugs.
The Obingwa LGA governorship election results are now being examined by the electoral commission.

Otti, who won 10 of the state’s 16 local government areas, is ahead by a significant margin, according to the results published by the State Returning Officer, Nnenna Oti.
The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, candidate Okey Ahiwe, on the other hand, prevailed in five local government areas.
According to the figures compiled from the 16 LGAs, Otti is in the lead with 172 246 votes, while his primary rival, Ahiwe of the PDP, received a total of 78 628 votes.
Between the LP and PDP candidates, there was a 93,618 vote margin of victory.
Nonetheless, it is questionable how PDP could win roughly 94, 000 people without LP picking up more votes.
The controversial Obingwa LGA has 157,390 registered voters, of which 154,966 have Permanent Voters Cards, or PVCs. But, only 26,845 of these voters were accredited to participate in the voting process there on March 18.
