According to allegations on social media, Governor Alex Otti and his Deputy, Ikechuckwu Emetu, are presently engaged in a cold war. However, Chukwudi Eke Mba, the Chief Press Secretary, CPS to Abia State Deputy Governor, has denied these claims.
The CPS, who announced the firing in a press release he signed, claimed that the reports, which came from a well-known content producer, were complete nonsense meant to sabotage the amicable and young relationship between Otti and his Deputy.
Eke Mba vehemently refuted claims made in online publications that he, the CPS, was a PDP member, claiming that he is still in charge of his responsibilities as the CPS and a card-carrying member of the LP.
Eke Mba urged Abians and the general public to dismiss the reports, which the internet publisher meant to stir up negativity, conflict, and tension, claiming that his phone lines had been overrun with calls and text messages about the topic.
According to him, the story’s publisher is a well-known PDP supporter.
This was part of the news release:
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, and his devoted Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, FNSE, have been the subject of a deliberate fraudulent attempt to sow discord by declaring ‘a cold war’, and I have received a deluge of calls and texts about it this evening.
“Once more, he was let down by his ignorant conscience, which claimed that I belonged to the PDP. He is a well-known actor who promotes materials or postings with the purpose to sow dissension, arouse hostility, and heighten tension without justification. His and his employers’ intentions, though, are already doomed to failure.
I want to use this chance to reassure all Abia natives, citizens, and friends that Governor Alex Otti and Engineer Ikechukwu Emetu continue to work together in a way that is not only friendly but also extremely effective for the eagerly anticipated Abia development. Their obvious shared dedication to the advancement of our beloved State demonstrates the long-standing peaceful working relationship between them, which cannot be overemphasised.
“Let there be no mistaking the diligent and cordial effort our Governor and Deputy Governor are putting in to serve you. We should expect more development under their leadership as long as our state’s interests are kept in the centre of all they do.
“I am still a proud card-carrying member of the Labour Party, and I dutifully carried out every responsibility assigned to me in order to ensure the Labour Party’s resounding triumph at all levels. Everyone is well aware of my actions before, during, and after the elections in 2023. Eke Mba stated, “I do not and will not be a member of the PDP.
You might remember that on Thursday, a number of social media sites were inundated with rumours that the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, and his deputy, Ikechuckwu Emetu, were engaged in a cold war.
According to the allegation, Chukwudi Eke Mba, the governor’s chief press secretary, was fired because he supposedly belonged to the PDP and the governor gave his deputy the order to carry out the directive.
The report also asserted that one of the governor’s top appointments now handles various tasks that were formerly the deputy governor’s responsibility.
