Osun Protest: PDP, APC Clash Over Arson Allegations
Discover the clash between Osun PDP and APC as they accuse each other of an alleged arson plot amid a protest.
The Secretariat and campaign offices of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state are being targeted for attack, according to reports from the local chapter.
The PDP in Osun claims that the APC is plotting to disrupt peace within the state, and has notified local security agencies of this scheme.
The uncovering of the plot to commit arson was reported by Sunday Bisi, Chairman of Osun PDP in a statement on Thursday night. Security agencies were immediately alerted and deployed personnel to prevent the intended damage.
Bisi called on the Police and Secret Service to summon the APC leaders in Osun State for questioning, with the aim of averting any potential disturbance of peace.
If the opposition leaders are not questioned promptly, there is a risk of danger to the state from an aggressive-minded opposition group that may set fire to its own facilities for political advantage.

The APC leaders in the state should now be informed that reports on this malicious plan have reached Abuja, and they will bear accountability for any chaos or disorderliness occurring in Osun State.
It is our belief that the opposition has reservations regarding Governor Ademola Adeleke’s effective handling of the nationwide protest in Osun State, which occurred without any untoward incidents. We caution against the nefarious members within APC who intend to cause mayhem and chaos as a means to pressure and tarnish the government’s image.
The cyberstalking and personal attacks on Governor Adeleke by the state APC Chairman are immoral actions that we strongly condemn as unacceptable infractions.
The constant cyberstalking and blatant disregard for the state Governor’s office by the APC state chairman must be addressed by security agencies. Furthermore, we assert our willingness to pursue legal action if these violations and defamatory acts persist.
Bisi reassured the citizens of Osun State about maintaining peace and stability in spite of APC’s tactics. He emphasized that the state authorities are closely monitoring the protests and committed to preserving Osun’s peaceful status despite ongoing nationwide demonstrations.
The Osun APC had previously claimed that hooligans in the employ of Governor Ademola Adeleke were plotting to ignite its state headquarters situated in Osogbo.
In response to the accusation, Tajudeen Lawal, chairman of Osun APC issued a statement urging state security agencies to remain vigilant against potential schemes orchestrated by purported supporters of Adeleke who are allegedly involved in criminal activities.
According to Lawal, the individuals commonly referred to as hoodlums were masquerading themselves as demonstrators in the current nationwide protest with an intention of setting on fire both the party’s secretariat and Ileri Oluwa House that functioned as Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Secretariat.
According to Lawal, the APC has grounds for suspecting that Adeleke orchestrated the demonstration against President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Lawal stated that they possess trustworthy information suggesting that Governor Adeleke has been providing weapons to his followers during the demonstration, under the pretext of humiliating President Tinubu.
According to reliable sources, the governor may have been involved in funding the chaos that occurred in Osun State. It appears that several of his staff members and prominent figures within PDP were heavily involved in orchestrating protests throughout Thursday and Friday, providing further evidence for these claims.
The APC has cautioned the State Police Command and other security agencies in Osogbo to stay vigilant as hoodlums purportedly linked with the PDP state chapter may pose a threat. These individuals are disguising themselves under the guise of protesters during ongoing nationwide demonstrations, allegedly planning to set fire to both the APC state secretariat and Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Secretariat located in Osogbo’s capital city.
