Three suspected cultists have been arrested in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, in a joint operation conducted by the Osun State Police Command and local hunters.

The arrest was confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, who stated that the suspects had attacked individuals in the Alekuwodo area.
Opalola further mentioned that these cultists were notorious for terrorizing the residents of that particular area.
Acting on information received from the public, the Anti-Cultism Unit swiftly responded and apprehended three suspects, who later confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.
In addition to this, a member of a notorious gang involved in motorcycle theft, named Sodiq, was also arrested in the Ilesa Garage area.
The police spokesperson assured that efforts would be made to apprehend the remaining members of the gang who managed to escape.
A resident of Alekuwodo, identified as Adebayo, expressed relief that the suspected cultists had finally been apprehended after causing fear and unrest in the area for some time.
According to Adebayo, the suspects were gathered for a meeting when the police’s Anti-Cultism Squad intervened and arrested three of them, while the others managed to flee.
