Osun Amotekun makes four arrests for burglary and stealing
On Wednesday, Osun Amotekun Corps agents in the Iwo Area Command detained four men—Isaac Oluwafemi, 23, Adeolu Ayuba, 19, Afeez Ismail, 23, and Sola Azeez, 19—all of whom were natives of the Iwo Local Government.
They were detained on suspicion of stealing, breaking into, and damaging government buildings.
The suspects allegedly committed the act in Telemu, Osun State’s former Ola-Oluwa local government secretariat, according to the Osun Amotekun Corps.
The perpetrators were detained after stealing and vandalising wheelchairs, iron tables, and aluminium sheets.
Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, the commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps in Osun, who confirmed the arrest, said that the group’s luck ran out after Amotekun agents responded to requests for help from locals.
According to Adewinmbi, the agents acted swiftly, apprehending the offenders and fleeing the scene with the stolen goods.
“The suspects admitted to carrying out the act after the investigation.
The police have the suspects now for further questioning and possible prosecution, according to Adewinmbi.
