Osimhen Sues Turkish Journalist Over Assault Allegation 

Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has filed a lawsuit against a Turkish journalist over allegations of assault, seeking to clear his name and protect his reputation.

Victor Osimhen, striker for the Super Eagles, has initiated legal proceedings against Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman. This follows accusations made by Bozduman claiming that Osimhen assaulted him at an African restaurant two weeks prior.

Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli, has been excelling in the Turkish Super Lig by leading Galatasaray to impressive performances both in the league and UEFA Europa League with his goals and assists. Despite this remarkable form, last week he became embroiled in a controversy that stole some of his spotlight.

Bozduman claimed that the striker attacked him as he tried to photograph the Nigerian star following Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-3 stalemate with Dynamo Kyiv. Osimhen has firmly rejected these allegations, asserting his innocence.

In a video quoted by Pesindeyiz Galatasaray, he stated: “I didn’t hit the journalists; they’re lying. You need permission to flash your camera and conduct an interview. I told them they had to delete my photos. If I’d wanted to hit them, I would have.”

In a recent development, radio host Buchi Laba announced that Osimhen is pursuing legal action against the journalist for defamation, with the hearing slated to begin on Monday (today).

According to the Wazobia OAP, Osimhen stated, “If I hit him, he’ll receive justice; and if he’s lying, he will face legal consequences.”

Since joining Galatasaray last summer, Osimhen has been in excellent form. The Super Eagles star has notched 16 goals and five assists in just 21 appearances for the Turkish giants.
