Osimhen receives congratulations from CAF on his Ballon d’Or nomination

Victor Osimhen has been congratulated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on his Ballon d’Or candidature for 2023.

Osimhen was on the list of contenders unveiled by the organisers on Wednesday night.

The Napoli hitman created history as the first nominee from Nigeria for the Ballon d’Or.

There were 29 additional players on the shortlist.

The CAF posted on its official X (previously) handle, “Africa has 4 nominees among the best players in the world in 2023.”

Osimhen scored 26 goals last season, which helped Napoli win the title.
