In the international category of the Ghana Football Awards, Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has been nominated for Best African Player by the awards’ organizers.
On the official Ghana Football Awards Twitter account, Osimhen’s nomination was made public.
Along with Manchester City and Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez, Liverpool and Egypt star Mohammed Salah received nominations.
To assist Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years, Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 games.
Also in the UEFA Champions League, the 24-year-old scored five goals.
In addition to the league’s top scorer honors, the Nigerian was also voted the best striker.
For Liverpool, Salah played 51 games while tallying 30 goals and 16 assists.
In 47 games for Manchester City across all competitions, Mahrez made 15 goals and contributed 13 assists.
