If I had been unsuccessful in my bid for the Senate, my blood pressure would have increased – Oshiomhole

According to the former APC national chairman, if he had fallen short like other former governors, his opponents would have made fun of him.

Adams Oshiomhole, a senator from Edo North, has said that if he hadn’t been elected to the National Assembly, his blood pressure would have gone up.

Medically speaking, a blood pressure reading of 180/120 mmHG is a hypertensive crisis and necessitates immediate medical intervention. A normal blood pressure reading is less than 120/80 mmHG.

Speaking at a gathering held in his honor in his birthplace of Iyamoh, in the Etsako West Local Government Area, Oshiomhole revealed that if he had lost the senatorial race, his blood pressure would have increased by 240 to 360.

According to Oshiomhole, “if you had voted against me, my blood pressure would now be 360/240, assuming I’m still alive.”

Because of the opposition’s jubilation, they would have come to lock my small door and shatter my small bones, but you (the supporters) said no.

It would have been unfortunate if he had lost, he said, adding that many previous governors have failed in their quest to win senate seats.

Assuring his followers that they would benefit from democracy, the former governor of Edo commended them for supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential election on February 25.

In the National Assembly, he vowed to do his best to represent Edo North, adding that it was his duty to make sure the state gained more from the President Bola Tinubu administration.

The legislator asserts that Tinubu will alter Nigeria as he did Lagos State as governor from 1999 to 2007.

In the elections on February 25, Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo and former chairman of the APC, won the position of senator.

Francis Alimikhena of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 55,344 votes, but he received 107,110 votes to defeat him.
