Various prominent figures in Nigeria, such as Senators, former governors, top government officials, and frontline politicians, have expressed their heartfelt condolences and admiration for the late Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, a former member of the House of Representatives and a one-time presidential aide who passed away on February 8 while watching a football match between Nigeria and South Africa during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire.

The night of tributes, held at A-Class Restaurant in the Maitama area of Abuja, was a solemn occasion where speakers reflected on the significant impact that the late lawmaker had during his lifetime.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Night of Tributes, Ali Modu Sheriff, a former Borno State Governor, set the tone for the evening by sharing his personal sentiments about the shocking news of Ojougboh’s sudden passing.

Sheriff expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of Ojougboh, highlighting the trustworthiness and loyalty that characterized their relationship, emphasizing the late lawmaker’s invaluable contributions to his political journey and understanding of Nigeria.
