Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has warned against assaults on his personality as the race for Senate leadership heats up.
The former governor of Abia State, who made this public in a statement on Thursday, claimed that individuals have resorted to spreading lies in an effort to harm his character about the post of senate presidency.
Kalu believes that rather than criticising him for holding the job, the 10th Senate should be concentrating on how to better the lives of Nigerians they were elected to represent.
According to the announcement, “By June 13, the National Assembly will pick a new leadership to oversee the 10th Senate’s business.

“As the Senate election continues to capture the attention of all Nigerians, I beg my fellow colleagues who are interested in the position to concentrate more on the impact they may have rather than spending time engaging in blackmail.
We must avoid hostility, misinformation, and propaganda if we want to advance and flourish as a nation. They are making false accusations against me and utilising my identity for rumours, purchases, and sales. People have started high level and low level character assassination and slander campaigns against Orji Uzor Kalu because of his position.
God’s dominance over our lives should never be forgotten. We must keep in mind that we do not live for ourselves, but for God first, and subsequently for others.
