Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who started the Word of Life Bible Church, and Helen Oritsejafor, who was married to the former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), have said they will sue two national newspapers for libel.
“My attention has been attracted to the phony and vicious news making the rounds on blogs, social media platforms, and newspapers against my character and that of my family,” the author of the statement, which was made accessible to The Guardian, claimed. It is crucial that I lay forth the facts because they are utterly abhorrent, repugnant, and unfathomable.
“I am a Christian woman who upholds the principles of her Christian religion and marriage. I am a wife, mother, and lady of God. The most significant aspects of my life are my family and my house.
Therefore, I urge everyone to choose their interests and the interests of our adorable children over the desire to make money off of this pointless endeavor. Unless individuals divorce on social media, my husband and I are still together, and I have never betrayed my devoted husband.
“These are works of the devil and his emissaries to tarnish my character and good deeds,” she continued. Over the years, I’ve dedicated my time and money to helping the less fortunate, supporting widows, and awarding scholarships to orphans. Through my many online and offline platforms, I have also mentored and taught many young women about the fundamentals of creating and maintaining happy marriages. I can’t go against what I believe in.
Remember that life is a seed. Carrying false information that is not backed up by facts is not just malicious but also illegal.
“I beg the public to respect my family’s demand for privacy and to ignore clumsy attempts to harm my reputation.” “I have briefed my attorneys, and all appropriate legal procedures are being taken in light of the misleading news,” she said.
