EndBadGovernance organisers reject IGP’s proposal for confined protests. Discover their reasons and next steps.
On Tuesday, the organizers of the intended #EndBadGovernance protest slated for August 1st declined Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s suggestion to limit demonstrations.
During a meeting with the organizers, Egbetokun recommended that protests be limited to specific locations and cautioned against holding demonstration on streets.
The IGP advises against street processions due to the risk that while peaceful protests are being planned, others may be plotting violence.
