Organisations ask Tinubu to name Dauda Adamu as the next minister for youths
In order for President Bola Tinubu’s objective of “Renewed Hope” to be best realised through the young of Nigeria, a coalition of pro-democracy organisations on Saturday recommended that Mr. Dauda Adamu be appointed Minister of young.
The recommendations were made in an open letter to President Tinubu that was signed by Malam Abdullahi Aliyu-Katsina, the national chairman of the APC National Stakeholders Forum.
These organisations include the Coalition for National Spread and Balanced Representation and the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Stability Project.
Other organisations include the APC National Stakeholders Forum, the Voice of APC Youths Worldwide, and the Forum of Special Assistants to the APC National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.
According to Aliyu-Katsina, the advise was required out of a sense of duty to one’s country, the APC, democracy, and the interests of Nigeria’s youth.
He pointed out that Mr. Adamu, a native of Taraba state, symbolises the cohesion and hope of Nigerian young from the North and South, at home and abroad, men and women, and from all political and non-political backgrounds.
Additionally, he claimed that Mr. Adamu was a symbol of youth unification who possessed multicultural social intelligence and the capacity to blend and collaborate with young people from all regions of Nigeria and across a range of undertakings.
Your Excellency’s mentoring of Mr. Adamu, which began when you were the governor of Lagos State in the early 2000s, has had an impact on his development.
“At that time, you appointed Mr. Adamu as the first female Spelling Bee champion’s secondary school, Lagos State Model College, Badore, and made him the state’s one-day governor of Lagos.
This appointment was a part of your youth mentoring programme, whose participants are currently among the brightest students in the nation.
Aliyu-Katsina concurred, stating that Adamu was the most qualified, competent, and equipped person to serve as the young community’s representative on President Tinubu’s cabinet.
He continued by saying that his political, social, and professional accomplishments, as well as his support of the APC and the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign, increase his likelihood of being appointed Minister of Youth.
His social foundation crosses ethnic and religious boundaries, national and international borders, gender divisions, and formal and unofficial areas of society. His skill set is broad-based and multifaceted.
He possesses the exceptional intelligence, work ethic, drive, enthusiasm, insight, and dynamism needed to oversee, plan, and carry out the government’s vision and programmes through the youth constituency.
He added that Adamu was a founding member of the APC’s youth wing and had been actively involved in the organization’s service on a daily basis and via important responsibilities.
“In specifically, he worked as a Special Assistant to the Muhammadu Buhari Presidential Campaign Council and the APC National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.
The Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, the APC National Convention, several APC support organisations, primary election and congress committees in numerous States and the FCT, and more were all places where he served in a similar manner.
