Ore-Ijebu Ode Expressway: 4 Burnt to Death in Auto Collision

A tragic accident on the Ore-Ijebu Ode Expressway resulted in four people being burnt to death. Read about the details of this devastating crash.

Four individuals have tragically lost their lives, and eight others are in critical condition following a serious car collision along the Ore-Ijebu Ode expressway.

On Monday at 2:00 p.m., a white Toyota Hiace bus bearing the license plate XA690AKU was involved in an accident at RCC Ogbere.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun Sector Command’s spokesperson, Florence Okpe, has stated that there were 18 individuals impacted by the collision.

The driver’s exhaustion and lack of control have been identified as contributing factors to the incident.

According to Okpe, a group of 18 individuals were present which included 8 adult males and 10 adults females.

Regrettably, one male alongside three females couldn’t survive the incident while four men and four women suffered severe burns. Thankfully, the remaining passengers came out unscathed.

The state hospital in Ijebu-Ode is where the wounded have been conveyed for medical care, while the deceased bodies are currently held at its mortuary.

According to FRSC Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin, motorists should make resting a priority prior to starting long journeys.

He suggests drivers take breaks of 15-30 minutes after every four hours on the road in order to avoid fatigue-related accidents.
