The processing of trucks through virtual parks on the Eto platform must stop right once, according to a directive from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The Truck Transit Park Ltd. (TTP) in Lagos, Nigeria, released a statement on Wednesday in which Mr. Irabor Akonoman, Head of Operations, announced the suspension.
Akonoman claims that the suspension is a part of ongoing initiatives to enhance and streamline the operational procedures within the port ecosystem.
“As a result, all virtual parks operating on the eto platform should cease functioning immediately and stay so until further notice.
“Without exception, all trucks arriving at the ports shall have originated from a physical truck park, pre-gate, or export processing station certified by NPA.
“Please note that all categories including Reefer containers & Fish trucks will continue to have unrestricted access to the port but will go through an approved park before coming to the ports,” he stated.
“The operations of stakeholders may need to be modified in response to this direction. We are looking for your support and tolerance.
In order to improve and increase the effectiveness of our port operations, he stated, “Your cooperation and understanding during this period of evaluation and adjustment are greatly appreciated.”
