Onyekuru eager to secure spot in the Super Eagles AFCON squad
Henry Onyekuru, a striker for Al-Feiha, is adamant about making Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Since making the team for the Cameroonian-hosted AFCON finals in 2021, Onyekuru has not received a call-up from Nigeria.
The 26-year-old left Turkish team Adana Demirspor to play for Saudi Arabia Pro League team Al-Feiha in the summer.

In 14 games for Al-Feiha this season, the adaptable striker has three goals and two assists.
Onyekuru is hoping that his outstanding display will persuade Nigerian head coach Jose Peseiro to include him in the team for the 2023 Cote d’Ivoire tournament.
Onyekuru told Arab News, “I really want to be there again. I was there at the last AFCON in Cameroon.”
“There is still a misconception in Nigerian football that the Saudi league isn’t as competitive as it is.
But now, I believe they ought to be able to perceive that. It’s competitive because of the players that participate. I have not given up, and everything is possible.
