One person was detained in connection with the murder of two students from Offa Poly

One suspect has been detained by the Kwara Police Command in relation to the passing of Toyin Bamidele, a student at Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara.

The state’s commissioner of police, Mr. Victor Olaiya, provided newsmen in Ilorin with a statement that included this information on Sunday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the student was discovered on Thursday in her leased flat in the Offa neighborhood’s Dapson Extension laying in a pool of her own blood.

An HND I student of the school was discovered laying in a pool of blood at Dapson Area, Offa, on November 16, at approximately 5:20 p.m., according to information the police command obtained from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Offa.

The deceased was identified in the statement as Toyin Bamidele, an institution student studying food technology at the time of her death.

After learning of the occurrence, a group of detectives headed by the Divisional Police Officer from the Offa division was sent to the scene.

Upon initial examination at the scene, certain marks of violence were seen on the face and neck areas of the body.

It stated, “The deceased was declared dead by a medical professional after the body was taken to Wale Clinic and Hospital.”

According to the announcement, the deceased person’s body has been placed in the mortuary pending an autopsy.

It further stated that a person believed to be connected to the case had been arrested and was currently assisting the police with their investigation.

The command wants the public to know that bad guys are out there at this time, searching for anything or someone to eat, so they should be aware and on the lookout.

The statement stated, “The command reiterates its determination to identify the source of this crime and will not back down from her heavy duty to ensure the safety and security of citizens and their property.”
