At a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Kaduna on Thursday, members of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shi’ites, engaged in combat.

The state police command stated that one civilian, known as Aliyu, was killed, despite the Shiite demonstrators’ claims that two of their comrades were slain.

The police claimed that IMN militants had opened fire on their employees, who had been called in to disperse the “illegal” protestors.

According to them, the demonstrators were there to express their unwavering solidarity for the “oppressed” Palestinian people.

ASP Mansur Hassan, the command’s public relations officer, stated, “It is a lie to say that Police killed two Shi’ite members,” when contacted. The primary reason we went out was to disperse the demonstrators was that the IMN is not allowed to operate in Kaduna State. They were demonstrating against the war between Israel and Palestine, yet this is Kaduna, not Israel.

Conversely, the IMN members were the ones who opened fire on our guys. They threw pellet-loaded catapults at our guys. They (the Shi’ites) killed one civilian, named Aliyu, in the process. They attacked innocent bystanders and obstructed the road.

Members of the International Men’s Network (IMN) began their demonstration at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council and marched along Muhammadu Buhari Way to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) headquarters, where they delivered a letter of protest.

Men from the Nigerian Police confronted the protestors a short while after it started, shooting into the air and using tear gas to scatter them.

Their leader, Aliyu Umar Tirmizi, addressed the crowd during the demonstration and declared, “The Israeli occupiers have been unleashing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid on the unarmed civilians that include men, women, and children for the past 75 years.”

“They have destroyed innocent residents’ homes and places of worship in addition to murdering thousands of children and the elderly. Zionist Israel has terrorised innocent worshippers who visit the holy Mosque of Al-Aqsa and exploited its sacredness.

Zionist Israel has escalated its crimes against the innocent Palestinian people in recent years. They have attacked hospitals, murdering innocent patients, and used weaponry that are prohibited by international law against civilians. These crimes are carried out with full awareness of the so-called United Nations, which has done nothing but stand by and allow the Zionist regime’s evil schemes to continue.

“To suggest that the United States of America gives Israel $3.27 billion in military funding each year would be an understatement. Human-minded people from all over the world, including the oppressed Palestinian people, have rebelled against these horrors, he stated.

The demonstrators represented the children lost in the Israel/Palestine conflict with placards and white clothing draped like dead babies with bloodstains. They were yelling solidarity for Palestine and death to Israel.
