Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, tragically passed away at the age of 31 after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony. Fans and the music world are in shock, mourning the loss of the beloved singer.
According to sources familiar with the situation, Liam Payne and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy arrived in Argentina on September 30. They shared several social media posts documenting their vacation fun together. Reportedly, Kate left Argentina on October 14th while Liam remained there and checked into the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
We were informed that a hotel staff member dialed 911 to report an “aggressive” male present at the establishment today. This corroborates what witnesses described regarding Liam’s conduct in the lobby.
Former One Direction singer Liam passed away on Wednesday evening. According to several witnesses at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, he fell from his third-floor room. It is currently unclear whether this was intentional or accidental.
TMZ has obtained a photo of Liam’s body on the hotel deck, surrounded by tables and chairs. His tattoos are clearly visible, including a clock on his left forearm and a scorpion on his abdomen, which aided in confirming initial witness reports.
We were informed that the incident occurred shortly after 5 PM in Buenos Aires. Earlier, Liam had been behaving erratically in the hotel lobby—he smashed his laptop and needed to be carried back to his room.
Police and other first responders have surrounded the hotel, and authorities have erected a red tent over the body as they commence their investigation into Liam’s death.
Recently, he traveled to Argentina for a Niall Horan concert earlier in the month, where the 1D bandmates had an unexpected reunion at the show.
Liam joined One Direction at just 16 years old, and the group quickly rose to become the world’s biggest boyband following their debut on “The X Factor” in 2010. The band eventually disbanded in 2015, with Liam recognized as one of their primary songwriters.
As previously reported, Liam disclosed in June 2021 that he faced challenges with alcohol and prescription drug addictions during a period when One Direction was on tour. His struggles became so intense that he experienced “severe” suicidal thoughts.
