Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Gbenga Edema, an APC governorship aspirant in Ondo State, engaged in a dispute over the distribution of election materials for the party’s primary at the BON hotel in Akure.

Ododo, who is the chairman of the seven-member committee overseeing the Ondo APC governorship primary, found himself in a heated argument with Edema as party members gathered at the hotel.

Edema confronted Ododo, claiming that election materials were supposed to be distributed to various wards in the state as per the instructions given by Ovie Omo-Agege, the secretary of the primary election committee.

He alleged that the committee led by Ododo had violated the protocols set for the exercise.

In response, Governor Ododo stated that election materials had already been dispatched to wards in the North and South senatorial districts of the state.

He defended the committee’s actions by mentioning that materials for the central district were still being sorted out.

Edema, however, insisted that his ward in the south senatorial district had not received any materials, pointing out that the returning officer for his ward in Ilaje LGA was present but unable to collect the necessary items.

He expressed his frustration at the situation, emphasizing that despite being present since early morning, the materials had not reached his ward as expected.
