The All Progressives Congress, APC, has pledged to organize a primary election that is not only free and fair but also transparent in order to select its candidate for the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State on November 11.
Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Duru, reiterated this commitment during the closure of the submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms by aspirants in Abuja on Saturday.
The primary election is set to take place on April 20, 2024, with a total of sixteen aspirants having already obtained forms for the competition.
Duru emphasized that the party is dedicated to ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants in Ondo State, highlighting the importance of conducting a transparent process.

Following the closure of the submission phase, the next step in the electoral process will involve the screening of aspirants on April 11 and April 12, leading up to the primary election.
Duru assured that the screening process would be conducted meticulously, with aspirants being categorized into groups to facilitate a seamless procedure.
Duru also encouraged all aspirants to show sportsmanship and congratulate the eventual winner of the party’s candidacy, emphasizing the need for unity within the party.
He referenced the recent primary election in Edo State as a positive example of the party’s commitment to a fair and inclusive selection process, noting that even those who were dissatisfied with the results worked towards reconciliation among party members.
