The All Progressives Congress (APC) has established a seven-member Governorship Screening Committee to assess candidates for the upcoming primary on April 20.
The committee was inaugurated by the party’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Duru, who emphasized the importance of conducting the screening diligently, with discipline and friendliness. Duru also mentioned that the Appeal Committee would begin its work immediately after the aspirants’ screening process.
He assured the committee members that the secretariat would provide necessary assistance and support throughout the process. The screening committee is led by Mr Joshua Lidani, a former Deputy Governor of Gombe, with Bimbo Daramola, a former member of the house of representatives, serving as its Secretary.
Duru highlighted that the screening of aspirants is mandatory according to the party’s constitution, and it is essential for the Ondo state governorship election scheduled for November 16.
