Ondo: APC candidate cautions party about selecting incorrect candidate
Prior to the APC primaries on April 20, Jimi Odimayo, a governorship aspirant within the party, has made an appeal to the party’s leadership to avoid selecting a candidate with a one-term limit, expressing concerns about the potential advantage this could give to opposition parties during the upcoming election on November 16.
The current House of Representatives member for Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency, Odimayo, has also urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to reconsider his ambitions, emphasizing the importance of the southern senatorial district and the overall interests of the ruling party in making a strategic decision.

Odimayo highlighted the constitutional restriction preventing Aiyedatiwa from serving a third term in office, emphasizing the need for a candidate who can serve a full eight-year term to ensure the party’s success in future elections and maintain support from the electorate in Ondo South.
He stressed the importance of strategic decision-making and unity within the party to secure a successful outcome in the upcoming election.
