The Amotekun Corps, also recognized as the Ondo State Security Network Agency, exhibited 24 detained suspected culprits apprehended throughout the region.

At the headquarters of the corps in Akure, Amotekun commander Adetunji Adeleye shared that operatives from his organization had successfully rescued a kidnapping victim while profiling suspects.

Adeleye reported that the suspect’s arrest was the result of a joint operation with other state security agencies.

According to him, the suspects were apprehended for a range of offenses including abduction, robbery with weapons, thievery, possessing firearms and vandalism of CCTV cameras.

Twenty-four suspects were paraded and we are proud to announce that the state’s security situation is remarkably stable. Law enforcement remains stringent, and measures enforcing anti-open grazing laws have been implemented effectively.

He stated that human trafficking has reduced and the problems caused by cultism and militancy have almost disappeared. Kidnapping incidents are mostly limited to borders, but efforts are being made to handle them.

Adeleye commented on Bisola Olisa, a middle-aged lady who was rescued after being kidnapped by suspected abductors. He mentioned the kidnapping incident in Supare that resulted in one death and four individuals being taken into bushes. Adeleye noted that his team acted quickly with other security agencies to respond to the situation.

One suspect is currently in custody, and we are hopeful that we will successfully free the other victims.
