Onanuga replies to Peter Obi’s N5bn defamation threat, stating they will meet in court. Find out the details of this legal clash.

Bayo Onanuga, the communication and strategy Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, has responded to Peter Obi’s warning of legal action against him. This comes after Obi previously ran for president under the Labour Party banner.

Onanuga had accused Obi and his followers of instigating the upcoming nationwide protests against the administration led by Tinubu, citing widespread suffering in Nigeria. This has been brought to mind once more by OBASANJONEWS24.

In a letter addressed to Onanuga and signed by his lawyer, Alex Ejesieme, Obi implored the presidential spokesman to retract his statement and offer him an unconditional apology within 72 hours.

On top of the accusation, Obi insisted on receiving compensation amounting to N5 billion from Onanuga.

On Tuesday, Onanuga posted on his official X handle stating that he was awaiting a letter from Peter Obi’s lawyer regarding the N5 billion lawsuit threat and demand for an apology due to the proposed ‘revolution’.

“I want to make it clear to Obi and his lawyer that I am not intimidated by any legal action. We will see each other in court.”
