On the eve of the election, an NSCDC van carrying voting materials to Lagos collapses

On Friday evening, election day, a vehicle being used to transport polling materials from Abuja to Lagos collapsed.

The Giri Roundabout bridge in Abuja is where the tragedy is said to have happened. Also, the van was travelling to Lagos with NSCDC personnel.

People are seen volunteering to assist clean up papers that appear to be election materials that have been left all over the ground in a social media video.

According to a man who was speaking on camera, some of the passengers had injuries, and one of them had a brain injury.

He did however mention that certain senior NSCDC officers had been transferred to a separate location.

He explained, “When the accident occurred, those in the back hit the wood, and one person in front received a head wound. He might not be able to survive, I’m not sure.

“We then dialled for assistance. Yet, a few of the top officers were transferred to Gwarindada.

It was not known whether there had been any casualties at the time this report was filed.
