While visiting, Mrs. Tinubu inaugurated a 3.1-kilometer runway at Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Onueke. She expressed optimism that the airport’s operations would spur socio-economic growth in the state.
The First Lady also convened with traditional rulers at the Presidential Lodge in Abakaliki, where she praised the state’s peaceful environment. She remarked, “Nigeria possesses all that is necessary to become a great nation. We must continue to bless this land, and I urge you, our traditional leaders, to guide us in this effort.”
Mrs. Tinubu commended Governor Nwifuru for surpassing the 35% benchmark in appointing women to significant positions. She highlighted that the governor’s deputy, along with the Secretary to the State Government and other key officials, are women.
“I’m excited to announce that he has chosen to empower 130 individuals with businesses by granting each one million Naira for business recapitalization. Representing RHI, we’ve brought substantial support, offering a donation of N50 million along with 20,000 wrappers, shoes, and bags specifically aimed at bolstering women’s enterprises in this state,” she added.
