Oladips has publicly accused Wizkid of stealing his lyrics, sparking a heated debate in the music industry.

The act of stealing intellectual property has been attributed to Grammy-award-winning musician, Wizkid, by Nigerian rapper Oladips.

According to the rapper, Wizkid reportedly used some of the lyrics from his own track “Ajala Travel remix” in their recent joint effort titled “MMS.”

Via his Instagram account, Oladips posted screenshots containing the lyrics of two songs.

Despite a fan telling him that sampling was “normal,” he insisted it should only be done with proper authorization.

According to his words, “Acknowledging the source is expected as it’s common practice. Others might pretend not to know you but still use your lyrics without giving due credit.”

As of now, Wizkid has not responded to the allegations.
