Former Governor Rochas Okorocha calls on the Nigerian government to honor the memory of Ifeanyi Ubah by granting freedom to Nnamdi Kanu, advocating peace and reconciliation.
Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, has called on the Federal Government to pay tribute to the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah by releasing Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra).
During a night of tributes held in Ubah’s honor on Monday in Abuja, Okorocha made this appeal.
He claims that deceased Igbo leaders are convening to discuss Kanu’s release.
Addressing the government officials in attendance, Okorocha requested that Senate President Godswill Akpabio relay the message to the federal government.
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation, Senator Akpabio. Please convey this message to the Federal Government on behalf of the Igbos gathered here: The best way to honor Ifeanyi Ubah is by releasing Nnamdi Kanu so that the Igbos can return home and reorganize their community. Even if you are hesitant, kindly send this request for your wife’s sake, who is one of us. We urge you to deliver positive outcomes; otherwise, consider her connection with our community at stake.
“I haven’t died before, and I don’t plan to die anytime soon. However, I’m certain that remarkable leaders like Ikemba Ojukwu and Ekwueme who have left us are still present in spirit form. No doubt they’re convening somewhere.”
