Kenneth Okonkwo reiterates his status as a Labour Party member, emphasizing his ongoing commitment. Read more on his declaration.

The Labor Party dumping allegations have been refuted by veteran Nollywood actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo.

Okonkwo claimed that he is still a complete member of the party.

On Tuesday, during his appearance on the Prime Time show of Arise Television, he made this statement.

“I must express my embarrassment regarding your comment. My knowledge of leaving the Labour Party was when it emerged from your media outlet, which is incorrect as I posted a statement to clarify any misunderstandings. So where did you obtain this inaccurate information? It certainly wasn’t from my statement that affirms me being an active member of the Labour Party,” he proclaimed.

He confirmed his membership of the Labour Party when asked, stating “Yes, absolutely.”

Okonkwo stated that the Labour Party crisis did not involve him but rather concerned the NWC’s inability to arrange an all-inclusive convention. He believed it was imperative for the leader to take swift action and ensure there was a properly organized, court-approved, and inclusive convention as per previous agreements.

Due to concerns over Peter Obi’s leadership style and inability to confront national issues, Okonkwo – a chieftain of the Labour Party- has publicly declared his decision to sever ties with both Mr. Obi (the presidential candidate) as well as the party itself.

He raised doubts about Obi’s capability to ensure successful election outcomes and directly challenge the corrupt officials, referred as “kakistocrats” and “kleptocrats,” of the nation.
