Chief Okocha has revealed his strategy for the 2027 elections, criticizing Rivers State Governor Fubara for creating his own political challenges. The opposition is gearing up for a strong contest.

Tony Okocha, the former and controversial Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has claimed that Governor Sim Fubara is causing issues for himself.

Okocha stated that efforts would be made to undermine Fubara’s reputation before the 2027 governorship election in the state.

Wike and Fubara have been embroiled in a prolonged conflict that has resisted efforts at resolution by President Bola Tinubu and other political figures.

The Minister, however, indicated a willingness for a peaceful resolution if Fubara followed the rule of law.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Okocha stated, “Wike was instrumental in Fubara’s rise to the position of governor. Prior to this, Fubara had never been involved in politics.”

Fubara is causing issues for himself. It’s our priority to weaken his and his party’s reputation to ensure a victory in 2027.

I believe that over the next decade, no politician will be able to dismantle the political structure Wike has established in Rivers State.

“I’m not claiming to be God, but I’m discussing what is achievable within the realm of human capability. Wike’s framework cannot easily be dismantled; it’s just not feasible anytime soon. Let’s leave it at that.”
