The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has recently revealed that it has identified a total of 83 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region within the past seven days.

This information was shared by the NNPCL through its official X handle on Tuesday. Additionally, the company has also discovered 15 illegal pipeline connections during the same time frame. The NNPCL further stated that these illegal activities were observed in various states including Rivers, Abia, Imo, and Bayelsa.

Furthermore, the company reported a total of 211 incidents related to oil theft and vandalism that occurred between the 6th and 12th of January, 2024.
