On May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari instructed security organisations to stop stealing crude oil.
Timipre Sylva, who is the minister of state for petroleum resources, gave the order to Operation Delta Safe soldiers.
Thursday, Sylva went to Port Harcourt, which is in the state of Rivers, to check on military installations.
He went to the Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder and the 97 Special Operations Group of the Nigerian Air Force.
The minister said that the President was determined to stop oil theft completely before he left office.

A few months earlier, the nation’s leader had given a similar order, Sylva recalled.
“We have noticed a tremendous improvement, demonstrating that you took the president’s directive seriously.”
“Because of this, Mr. President sent us here with a message of praise for your bravery,” he remarked.
The minister reaffirmed Buhari’s threat of an all-out battle against those who steal from the nation.
Sylva praised the military and other security organisations for reducing crude oil theft and illegal bunkering.
